Essential Aftercare Tips for Lip Blush Tattoo

Lip Blushing After Care:

You will be given an aftercare pack with instructions and specific aftercare to use.
If your lips are swollen use a cold compress for a few minutes. NEVER apply ice directly onto the lips. Pop it into a clean piece of food wrap or a plastic bag.
For 1 week or longer, continue using the lip care ointment or Bepanthen till healed. DO NOT use lip balms, tints or lipsticks until fully healed
No kissing for 10 days post treatment as this can cause infection and pigment loss.
No spicy or acidic foods and use a straw unless you are drinking water
Be careful when brushing your teeth and do not let toothpaste settle on them
NO PICKING – Allow any scabs to fall off in their own time
No swimming, saunas or heavy sweating for 2 weeks post treatment
No cosmetic treatment like lip fillers or lip plumping serums for 4 weeks post treatment

Important
If a cold sore starts to develop/tingle, please treat ASAP with patches or seek pharmacist advice.
If you are prone to cold sores, it is recommended to go to your GP and get a course of antiviral medication prescribed to take 5 days prior procedure, on the day, and 5 days after.

Lip Blushing FAQS

Lip Blushing takes between 30 minutes to an hour.

YES – But it does take a little while for the swelling to subside and the colour pigments to settle.
At JZ Cosmetic Tattooing, we use only high-quality pigments this ensures a natural lip colour and shape. Whether you want a soft, natural tint, minimising lip pigmentation or a bolder, more defined look, lip blushing has got you covered

Lip blushing can be uncomfortable but not painful. You can use a topical anesthetic to numb your lips and we can discuss this with you before your treatment.

Colour ghosting can happen during the healing process. The pigment settles under the skin and it can look like it disappears during this stage. You must avoid rubbing your lips, any kissing and NO PICKING so that the pigment settles evenly.

Lip blush tattoo procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus.
Note that a cold sore outbreak can alter the healed results of the tattoo. This is very important to discuss during consultation.
